Extra Curriculum

We aim at the holistic development of our students , Besides Academics  Our school, believes that participation in extra curricular activities enable students to develop talents and attain knowledge. Hence Yoga, Karate, Music, Dance, Physical Education, Art Education, Value Education, Handwriting and Spoken English are included in the curriculum itself at the primary and middle school level,

The Junior Red Cross  service organization was started in our school in the year 2005. It aims to develop service mindedness and inculcate noble virtues in the minds of our students
The students took active part in planting trees, performing first aid and road safety and volunteer service at temples during festival seasons.“ Service to humanity is service to god. “ With this motto the students take part in many social activities of the school.  Even a waste can be turned into a useful  product - to prove this, students involved themselves in an activity called “ Making Best out of waste “.Our JRC Students have even rendered their helping hands to the orphan children in “ Arumbugal alayam.”
Jawaharlal Nehru said “ Today’s children are Tomorrow’s citizens . “ Keeping this in mind ,we at Shikshaa mould the students for a better tomorrow.

Scouts & Guides classes are conducted from VI to VIII std and Cubs &Bulbuls classes from III to V std. As a part of our activity we conduct different games for our students. In the camp organised by us more than 50 challenging adventure games were conducted and many students took active part in it. Many of our Scouts & Guides receive the prestigious “ Rajya Puraskar Award” every year .The students implemented the Prime Minister’s“ SWACH BHARAT” at Kumaran kundram temple. The Volunteers also involved themselves in service in offering food.




To provide the students more practical exposure to the subjects they study,we have clubs like English, Tamil, Maths, and Science.These clubs have activities to strengthen the academic knowledge of the students.
This year our club inauguration started with U.V.Swaminathan’s  Tamil literary club performing Pooja dance followed by a drama. Tagore English club enabled the students to understand the Grammar by a vivid dance performance. Debate on ‘Teachers Vs Students’ and a skit on ‘ Practise Makes the Man Perfect’ were also appreciated by our Correspondent Madam                       
Sri Ramanujar Maths club staged a drama on ‘ Ramanujar as a student’ and presented a power point slide show about the Biography of Ramanujar , which was interesting and also inspiring. Aryabatta Science club explored Scientific queries through their live experiments. Socrates social club described the various means of Transport and its uses, by their beautiful dance performance and enabled the students to learn about the Important days in a year.
